ART CRITICS
The Territories of the World... by Parenti Paolo
We travel with him through the territories of Surrealism... dear to Giorgio de Chirico.
I appreciate this work because it does not play the fashion card... Paolo questions the world, from birth to death. "It is a conscious choice for me to explore inner thoughts, both personal and collective."
Paolo’s Symbolist works deserve our attention because they go beyond mere decorative representation... They pose questions to our consciousness and our behavior: "The truth is in His word (referring to God and His creation), and it is right before our eyes around us and within us." Indeed, this is a work of meditation... using plexiglass, wood, and marble, not to mention pigments. Paolo weaves his web to escape emptiness. He wanders the worlds of painting and sculpture blindly, with doubts and hesitations...
This is a work to follow, step by step... on the roads of poetry and love...

Regarding technique, Paolo Parenti demonstrates great dexterity through his works. The colors he employs, often vivid and contrasted, create an atmosphere charged with deep symbolism. The recurring geometric shapes, such as spheres and squares, symbolize major philosophical concepts: the purity of reason, shadow, doubt, and knowledge. In the work "Temptation," for example, the contrast between the white sphere and the black square is a striking representation of the inner struggle of the individual between pure reason and shadow. This simplicity of forms is balanced by the richness of textures and materials, ranging from canvas to acrylic, including sculptures in plexiglass and steel, which bring a modern dimension to his work. These materials, often unconventional in traditional art, confer an avant-garde character to his works while remaining rooted in classical and metaphysical concerns.
Paolo Parenti's great strength lies in his ability to marry traditional and modern techniques to explore universal concepts.
The balance between apparent naivety and philosophical depth gives his works multiple layers of interpretation, inviting viewers to reflect on their own condition in the face of modernity and materialism.
His pieces, often monumental and made from materials like steel or plexiglass, are particularly suited to collectors seeking works with a strong sculptural and conceptual dimension.
